What If....1002

Postby styxfanNH » Mon Jun 27, 2005 9:08 pm

What if Dennis decided to tour as a co-headlining act. Who should be his co-headlining touring buddy that would compliment his music to increase his fanbase?

(this is a different question than What if ......1001)

A while back there was talk, and it was only talk, of a co-headling tour called something along the lines of " The Three Rock Tenors" (which sort of matched The Three Tenors performances that were going on around the same time). It would have included Dennis, Steve Perry, and Peter Cetera.

I am not even sure if this ever got past the "wouldn't it be nice..." phase.

I like the idea myself and think it could/would have been a killer concert to see.

That would have been great, Bugsy. I could see Dennis touring with Billy Joel if BJ was playing rock again.

This will never happen because Perry will never tour again.

Dennis opening for Peter Cetera may be interesting, but I doubt it is likely to happen. When was the last time Cetera toured?

Dennis could open for Tony Bennett...it seems to be the style where Dennis wants to head to anyway...I think it would an interesting combination.

Jimmy Buffet would be good too.
Or, Olivia Newton John.

Why am I not surprised that the person who posted this missed the entire gist of what was said above? I recall having to explain.....things.....verrrrry.....slowly to this person before here. I don't think I am going to bother this time.

Deborah (Debbie) Gibson might not be a bad pairing.

Her path has been similar to Dennis'. That of success in the rock/pop market of their time and later moved toward broadway. In fact, she might not be a bad replacement for Dawn Marie which would also give her a chance to step out in front of an orchestra when the opportunity arose.

it would bring Dennis' music to another audience that at the same time might share the same audience with some of the broadway tunes.

While I don't know whether or not Dennis wants to co-headline or not, I know Peter Cetera is touring...and with an orchestra.

Perhaps Cyndi Lauper, as she recently released a cd done with orchestra.

Fleetwood Mac would be cool, or just with Stevie Nicks.

Cyndi Lauper's a good choice. Deborah Gibson, (I still think of her as Debbie Gibson) has a great voice. I'm not sure about Stevie Nicks and Dennis, I think the fan base would be of similiar tastes. It would be interesting if he would have a duet with one of these mentioned. What about Ann or Nancy Wilson (from Heart)?

Cyndi Lauper's album She's So Unusual is one of my faves! I'd go see her if all she did was play that album from start to finish!
