It's been 6-28-05 for a while now. But yea! It's being released.

As for all the solo videos he did, that's a negative...it doesn't include This is the Time, or at least it's not supposed to.

Thanks for the confirmation NH.

That's the link on Dennis' site.

I thought I read somewhere it was all his solo videos. But I could be wrong.

Slightly of topic.I think I saw a Classic Styx one from the same company/series,but there were only 5 trax/videos on.So at that price it may be just a few of his.

Last year the same company did release a Styx video compilation. Some copies had 5 videos, others had six, with the 6th being Mr. Roboto.

Dennis' should only have the 4 listed on his site.

Come Sail Away, 1977 promo video was the added 6th one to the Styx 20th Century Masters.

Dennis has one other solo video, as Sadie mentioned above, for This is The Time . It includes footage from the movie Karate Kid II so that may be why it is not on this complilation.

Otherwise, this DVD will have all of his solo videos save one.

I plan to buy it, as it will be a nice collectible.

I just checked, I have the one with 6 videos:

1. Blue Collar Man (Long Nights)
2. Come Sail Away
3. Too Much Time On My Hands
4. The Best of Times
5. Boat on The River
6. Mr. Roboto

It's nice to see/hear Blue Collar Man again - LOL I was so sick of hearing it for the longest time that now I enjoy it again. Only if I hear it once in a while :)

I love "Boat On The River"!!

Picky picky picky.

My bad sorry. I knew one of them was an extra, and that not all copies had all 6 on it.

Hiya Suitie (I know, rather lame).
I guess Styx were a little bit before the big video age.Maybe the reason for the amount of videos on there.
I only ever saw one Dennis video for Desert Moon some 20 years ago.
Never got the Styx one,due to trax there being way down my favorites list, but at 8$,I may splurge one day.

You know, that was exactly the problem gr8. And an attempt to remedy that was made with the KWH videos and Music Time. But by then it was a bit late.

Dennis, Tommy and JY all benefitted, during their solo time, with some of the video technology that was going on in the 80's.

Dennis was the only one who had any kind of video success, and only with Desert Moon. It was in heavy rotation in 1984 on MTV.

I kind of like JY's Wild Dogs video. And Call Me was a very cool, atmospheric work. I like it very much.

This is only partly true. I remember seeing both "Girls With Guns" and "Lonely School" back then. There was also the 'contraversy' that surrounded the multiple versions of the GWG video. Tommy also had concert videos on the Saturday night concert (or was it Friday?) for both "Tommy Shaw : Solo" and "Live At Notre Dame". Both were shown multiple times.

True, "Desert Moon" may have been a larger video 'hit'. But, Tommy had AT LEAST as much exposure on MTV as Dennis...then, of course, there is Damn Yankees.

Friday Night Videos. I used to watch that a lot. What was the name of the show on Saturday night in the 80's? I'm drawing a blank right now.

Tommy was a guest on American Bandstand too. Does anyone remember seeing this????

2618. Tommy Shaw/ Dwight Twilley/ Maria Vidal (video) (edit)
First aired: 11/10/1984
Guest star: Tommy Shaw (Guest), Dwight Twilley (Guest), Maria Vidal (Herself, video)
--Tommy Shaw - "Girls with Guns" & "Lonely School" --Dwight Twilley - "Why You Wanna Break My Heart" --Maria Vidal (music video) - "Body Rock"

Hey Froy, I found this from American Bandstand too, I had no idea about Roger being a guest:

2628. Roger Hodgson/ Eugene Wilde (edit)
First aired: 1/26/1985
Guest star: Eugene Wilde (Guest), Roger Hodgson (Guest)
--Roger Hodgson (formerly of Supertramp) - "Had a Dream (Sleeping With the Enemy)" & "In Jeopardy" --Eugene Wilde - "Gotta Get You Home Tonight"

Yes that's it!! Thanks :) It would've bugged me all night if I didn't have the answer - LOL

I think Friday Night Videos ran longer, but I do remember watching both shows. Before that was the Midnight Special and Don Kirshner's Rock Show or something like that.

I am on a small group of VH1 Classic watchers board. There are several on there who would like to see/copy both versions of GWG. I have only seen the one version shown on VH1C. It used to show a lot and now I never see it. I like it, and the song, very much.

The Haven't We Been Here Before video, IMO the most unusual Styx ever made, was shown exclusively on either Friday Night Videos or Nightflight? , am unsure which show, but never on MTV. It is not on the MTV A - Z list of videos. This video is one of the "holy grails", LOL, of video collectors.

I remember seeing "High Enough" (oops, got that title wrong earlier!) in heavy rotation on MTV/VH1, and so was "Show Me the Way", which was a terrific video. Beautifully filmed.

No, I don't think I have it. Do I??? LOL

I'm still going over my dvd/video lists. I found another box of videos from the past. Some are repeats like the Styx Japan tour and the Styx Maryland show.

I'm still looking for the Hawaii show, this would have been one of Tommy's first concerts with Styx. There's film footage out there and I think it's probably sitting in an old film office - UGH. I've seen the pictures, but not the film yet!! Journey was there too!!!!

I'm looking for the early, early, early Styx film footage. All I have is "Best Thing" from 1972 on DVD.

Yes, I have those on video/DVD, or some of it at least. I don't have the American Bandstand footage.

I wish everyone would just post their lists, no one's making money off of each other on here - LOL

In my spare time (LOL) I would love to put together a history of concert footage from the beginning, well until 1999. I love to watch the old concerts, what songs were played and how the songs changed throughout the years. I also would love to piece together all the tv interviews throughout the years. Oh and then do each solo career. And on and on........ Again as you all know, in my spare time - LOL

which one are you talking about? There are two...One is a concert at Notre Dame where Tommy does some interview bits sitting on a three wheeler at his ranch. Another has more interview bits and concert footage in Alabama. It's more a documentary, talking about 'road food', the hard part of making it solo, there is a bit of news footage where he is called a 'rock legend'...and there is an 'interview' in a hotel elevator with a fan which is really funny and ends with "I wish people who get paid to interview me asked questions like that..."
