Carrot Styx - Summerfest

Postby SuiteMadameBlue » Fri Jul 01, 2005 6:31 am

So who's all going to see Carrot Styx at Summerfest next week?

Just to warn you, it's Kid's Day that day - LOL It's a nightmare with all the strollers during that time.

But you do get in free from noon to 3:00pm and you get discounts on food at some of the restaurants during that time. If you have a Discount card, admission is free from noon to 8pm that day :)

First they go after the teen crowd, now the stroller crowd. Styx has gone from bras and panties being thrown at them to having bibs and diapers. Good job guys, hope the diapers are clean.

See? It's not that hard. At least add some variety to your remarks.

StyxfanNH was probably the youngest one at the DDY show, everyone else was tripping over their walking STYX

Even if you paid me 1000 dollars I would not go.
I never want to be seen in public throwing up my dinner
Gowan's Lady copycat would do just that

Froy, I'll always believe the group was at it's best / strongest musically with Dennis, not Gowan.......and, if the stars and egos again come into alignment, I would welcome a reconciliation , so we agree on that.

BUT

Once I got over my Gowan is not Dennis complex, and decided to listen to this era's music with an open mind, I discovered:

1. That I like their music better than any other NEW music out on the market.....at least the stuff I have heard.

2. That if you don't use Dennis as a measuring stick against Gowan, they guy does have some talent ( though I'll probably use Lady and CSA for bathroom breaks....still cant take hearing him do DDY sung Styx songs ! )

3. Most of BBT is really quite good........some of the songs I like BETTER than the original versions.

Bottom line, for only $12.00, I will be able to express opinions about this version of the band based on a 1st hand eyewitness account. You should consider buying yourself some inexpensive credibility and join us there !

Of course, that would mean opening your mind ever so slightly, so I wont hold my breath !

Point well said, liked the #2. Don't compare DDY and Gowan. DDY is the voice of Styx. And Larry does "ok" on the DDY songs. BUT, Larry's songs he has recorded Rock, and his stage act is very good. He is a total different animal than DDY, and that is not bad.-ERIC

Why should I open my mind to Gowan
Just because he parades around with a band that uses the name of styx?
Im sorry to me Styx is dead over finished
If they did not have the name STYX would you even care
probably not
Im glad you like there music and Im glad we agree that STYX is STYX with Dennis not Gowan'
Honestly I careless about STYX right now
Im sure after the summer there finished maybe to return maybe not
Who cares the name STYX has been ruined and is laughable.
Even if Dennis came back it would not be the same the jig is up
Unless the 2 goofs grew up or sobered up then there will never be a STYX ever again in my mind
So go ahead enjoy Gowan Rickie Todd and who ever else is in the band,
Im done with anything STYX for now

ADAM: I sincerely doubt that...for instance, would someone who was done with anything alcoholic log onto online Bartender training message boards everyday?

If you are so done Froy, why in the Hell do you spend so much time here? Is Journey done too, because Perry isn't around? Are VH done too because of DLR's absence? Well, they are done, but.. you get my question. answer it please, I am dying to know...

Okay, from this list it's Kansas and Classic, so far.

As for Van Halen, that didn't bother me that much with the change from Roth to Hagar. I liked both line-ups. I think I've seen both versions and liked the concerts, from what I remember - LOL

I like Journey with this line-up too. I didn't see Journey with Steve P. so I can't compare the concerts. I'm looking forward to next week seeing Journey, even though I don't know half of the songs - LOL

Darren - "Walking Styx" - LOL that's a good one. I haven't heard that one :D

Classic,

Ya gotta give CSA a chance! If you can get past the two verses, it's worth it cause it's such a great instrumental song and that part of it still sounds great!!!!

Also, Grand Illusion is terrific, especially Todd's drumming! (Once again, IF you can tolerate the vocals :) )

I'm in row AA Section 2 (middle section - 26th row about).

The row EE tickets Section 2 are the extra ones. I accidently bought a couple extra because I didn't think the first ones went through - LOL I'm glad I bleach my hair blonde - duh on me!!

Anyone looking for Journey tickets in Milwaukee? I'll have to go over to a Journey board.
