Not Styx related, but I'll post it anyway...especially since I can just cut/paste it:

As I posted to the Journey digest on July 3:

So, I go to a free outdoor concert at the local casino (Sarah Darling
performed, if anybody knows her). During the intermission they had
some karaoke contest winners perform. The first guy comes up and does
"America" by Neil Diamond and some kinda goofy actioneer song. The
second performer was a lady and she does "Black Velvet" and "I'm Still
Alive", or whatever the name of that disco song is...she did a good
job with it though.

The last guy gets up there and does "I Can't Hold Back" by Survivor.
During the song he does one of those OoooOOOoooh thingings. So, I
turn to the wife and say, "Betcha he does a Journey song next."
Sure thing, he says, "I'm going to slow it down a bit and do a Journey
song, 'Open Arms'." A very tough song but he did a great job with it.
Not that Augeri needs to watch his shoes or anything...the guy was
bald and was challenged in the nasal area...not really a good fit for
Journey. :) Kinda funny though.[/img]

Only once.......and by that time I wasn't feeling it ( or much else for that matter ) I believe it was CSA, and the whole bar joined in on the choruses.

I sang alot in high school though in a band and at school....my senior year the homecoming theme song was First Time, and Prom theme was The Best of Times, and I did a pretty decent DeYoung for a kid whose voice hadnt completely matured yet, so I was the singer at the coronations.

The band did Suite Madame Blue at the School talent show one year...that was pretty cool, we did it with a small orchestra and a 16 person back up choir...we were trend setters, the year was 1979, Dennis didnt get the idea until more than 20 years later ! Hey ! Maybe we should sue for royalties.....

We also did Renegade, but to be honest, I sucked on that one...have you guys seen that commercial on TV of the guy in the garage band singing Foreigners "Hot Blooded" ???? well, I was a LITTLE better than that on Renegade...but not so good that the commercial didnt remind me a little of those days !
