I've defended some of the things you've said before, but this top's the cake. You are way out of line on this one.
The support for Chuck isn't because he's gay. The support for Chuck is because he is simply one of the nicest guys you would ever meet.

onestilllearning wrote:Jeez you guys are way to politically correct. I said nothing derogatary about his being gay but you know what I think the gay lifestyle is wrong! Why does that make me a bad person. My only point was the guy looks like he sucking on a lemon. The guy gets paid for his performance and for my money he should smile, wave or otherwise show the auideince his appreciation for thier reception.
There will always be different types of performers. Chuck has never been the most demonstrative person on stage in the band. For me, his facial expressions take nothing away from his performance. He isn't a front man, never (at least to my knowledge) tried to be a front man. He knows who he is and does things his way. Just like the rest of us.Being gay and having contacted AIDS does not mean you should be given more compassion than some poor guy who has a cancer which his lifestyle did not contribute to. Same thing for someone who have a bad liver from drinking. I certainly do not wish any illness on anyone regardless of what they may have done to contribute to that illness. But do not grant hero status to people with AIDS more money is spent on AIDS per death than any other disease and that is wrong. Are any of you familar with "bug chasing" plug the phrase into a search engine and you will find out.

swwskj wrote:Chuck has always been and IMO will always be an integral part of what Styx is and was. To think that AIDS has hurt him to the extent of being 70% blind is depressing indeed. One of my dearest friends is gay, and without getting politics involved, I can feel for Chuck. I showed my friend some of the recent pictures of Chuck, and he and I agreed that Chuck seemed to be in great shape. Sometimes looks can be deceiving. This is not a DDY vs Larry type of argument. Nor is it a Dem vs Rep type of debate. This is about showing support for a man who contributed to some of the greatest music in the soundtrack of my (and our) life(s). Let's try to seperate ourselves from the bickering for once and show a little solidarity. (Did I say that?.....Yes!)

Well said ! Sorry to all offended (again) bad choice of words and Chucks being gay has nothing to do with his stage presence.
Never write when you can speak. Never speak when you can nod. Never nod when you can wink.
I think I will take a leave of absence from the board for an indefinite time as I seem to offend most people here when I really do not intend to and while I have apologized and retracted posts when I agree I was wrong either I am too much of an asshole or you guys to easy to offend. I have enjoyed my time here and wish you all well.

It's a personal lifestyle choice. lol...is it a problem? How about: "I'll hold the door for you?" Is that more acceptable?
