I'm a year older than you. I was a dad at 21, so I've felt like an old fart for quite some time ALREADY! I first started feeling old when at about 25 or so, I realized I wasn't 'in' on all the current cool stuff. It's just a matter of maturing accepting more responsibility and changing your focus.
As for your observations, I can relate to practically all of it. Rock 'n' Roll is definitely for the young. End of story. All of the acts we grew up with are nostalgia acts now. When styx 6.0 came to charlotte, I went to go see them and posted that anyone on the fence should go see them, because the chances of seeing that type of show grower slimmer with each passing year.
As for the resident 'old farts' around here. I like 'em. Makes me feel a WHOLE lot younger![]()

Shouldn't you be working, and not playing on Andrews' site? I thought so. back to your desk.
So you can sit here and argue Dennis this and Tommy that... Lord knows I have for long enough ... but at the end of the day I don't think it matters if Jesus Christ was to come down and front Styx or Journey - people just aren't going to notice these art rock dinosaurs anymore to any large capacity.

Wait a second. You've been married 2/3 of my life? Yikes, you'd have to have been 18 when you got married. Let's see born in '65, married at 18. OH...MY...GOD... You had Don't Let it End playing at your wedding, didn't you!![]()

I used to tell joke to my friends when I was in my 20s (before I was married)... you know you're old when the girls coming out of high school don't even look at you anymore. They just assume you're like their parents or some authority figure. Hell a few days ago some asshole called me "sir" at a concert when he wanted to get by me.
Say what you will about the various lineups and what not... but I think that the glory days are gone and they're never coming back. Most kids (and I say most not all) don't want to watch a bunch of aging dinosaurs jump around and try to be 20 again.
So you can sit here and argue Dennis this and Tommy that...
So what should we do? Enjoy it while we have it... because we're not going to have it forever.
