Taylor singing "Play that Funky Music" is his ticket off the show, IMO.

Very good exposure for all artists involved on this show. Someone on the AI boards predicted a spike in sales for the Styx catalog and I agree with that assessment.
Sure could not hurt!

From USAToday:
The Be True to Your School of Rock Award -- Given the golden opportunity to pick two rockers, Chris started with a stinker -- Styx's retrocious (if I can coin a term here) Renegade, which not even a Robert Plant could have saved -- and Chris is no Plant. But choosing a song by Southern rockers Shinedown, I Dare You, was a good idea (suggested by many of you, in fact), and he did a good job with it. Most of his fans will forgive Renegade (heck, most of his fans probably like Renegade), and he goes into Wednesday in good shape.

But he just does not have that "Idol" thing. He really is hampered by his hair color...I mean the guy looks 40+. The only way he would win, is if AI tries to "prove" they are about talent, not image. But there are people who have both. Back to Chris, when you think about it, AI has pop stars, AI has a country star, AI has a classic rock star with Bo Bice, why not try to have a modern rock star with Chris?

If image mattered that much, Rueben and Fantasia would never have won.

Oh and hey everyone...I'm here...run.
AnnieOprah wrote:It was released in late 1978, but I believe Renegade wasn't released as a single and wasn't on the charts until 1979. Just like Babe wasn't really a single until early 1980 and Best Of Times until 1981.
