I guess for me it's that I never had the privilege of seeing a Journey show with SP at the lead (saw SA once & it was a really good show). It would be the 'concert of a lifetime' for me, and something that I will keep hoping for.
It's just that I feel like if everyone is so damned determined to "move on" then stop playing the songs that Steve Perry sang, which are so ingrained in all of us, that every time we hear them we long to see 'the voice' singing them. I guess I'm a "loon", but I'm not unrealistic. JSS is kicking ass for Journey, and if they want to proceed with this, they need to get into the studio and record some new stuff, instead of recycling the old stuff night after night after night...
It may be wishful thinking, but I'm gonna still hope...
Even when they do produce new music with JSS, it will still not comprise the bulk of their live show. Again, to say "stop playing the songs that Steve Perry sang" is to completely discredit the contributions of the others who played, wrote, and produced those songs. The current Journey has every right to play those songs live, as does Steve Perry should he choose to in a solo setting.
