Does anyone know if the lads are planning a European tour ? We have been waiting for so long here . Den from Greece

I agree with Denny, I know that Survivor has a lot of fans in Europe, especially Germany. I hope the will come to Europe next year!

Anyone know of anymore boots w/ Robin on vocals? I'd like to hime sing some more of Survivor's songs. Imagine him singing Oceans or "Didn't Know it was Love" Ha! that'd be awsome!

It's almost halloween, meaning tricks or treats.. I have a very special treat for everyone! Now, we all have heard Robin sing survivor classic songs via boot. Well, guess what? Incase you don't know Robin did a solo album with Frankie Sullivan who played the guitar as well as helped write some of the songs on the "Business as Usual" album.

This is a BIG peak of Survivor's future with Robin, the only thing missing here with "core Survivor" is Marc on drums, but the rest is "core Survivor". Check it out and tell me what you think...

Thanks for the info . We are anticipating for a new cd from Robin and Frank . Do you forward messages to them like how much we want to see them gigging in Europe ?
Check out a dutch band I found very interesting and not far from the Survivor sound : they're called Terra Nova and they are on for more than a decade . They even released a Best Of cd . Their site is www.TerraNova.name . I'd appreciate your oppinion (I think they'd be quite a support act for Survivor !) . Den

Hi,

I'm new here, so I missed a lot of these rare boots. Would anybody be kind enough to upload the Survivor, Live - 1999 - Mohegan Sun, or any boots of Jimi Jamison's second stint with the band?

Cheers

Unofficial released 2000

1. Someone else's sleepless night
2. Innocence of love
3. That's what it feels like to fall
4. Rebel girl 98
5. partial song (only 45 sec.)
6. Give it up
7. Feel the memories
8. Fire makes steel (skip at 2:52)
9. Nevertheless
10. Jessica
11. No boundaries
12. The love we never made
13. Seconds away
14. Lies

I have alot of Survivor stuff and many other artists: see my trade page here: db.etree.org/johnnieutah

Think than most of us here are interested by this performance :D .

About the Fire Make Steel Demos, Andrew post it on melodicrock extra, but the track list is not in the order. Don't know if his version has the full version of FMS track.

Survivor - Haymakers 1978

Postby FalconONE » Tue Dec 26, 2006 7:08 pm

Allright, Allright.....

I give you all the famous Survivor - Live At The Haymakers Club in Chicago in 1978.
How I got it ?

Well I'm lucky enough to know someone who was there to listen and caught on tape an "unknown" small band that night.... the rest is History...
When I received it 3 years ago.. I put it on a software to remove noises, cracks.... and I gave it to my friend. He sent a copy to Jim in the next months after I received it. He received all the cds of Jim autographed. I sent the show to Frank some months ago... he was so glad..
What we know now of this show that we didn't know and the guy who didn't know about it:

1 - It was the only time that the song "Life Is On The Line" is played live. (From Jim Peterik who told us in a letter)
2 - It is actually the 2nd show in the History of The Band!!!! (From Sullivan's letter)

I kept this recording all this time as one of the treasures recordings I have...
I give it to you fans today because I want that you hear the TRUE "sound signature" of Survivor. Survivor started as a true Hard Rock band.
Keep in mind this...

so Merry Christmas..

Fred

****** NOTE *******
Survivorfan2005:

We know you are a great fan as us.. It's great to have you as a great fan in this community.
But please, stop starting rumours...

Fire Makes Steel was never intended to be in Rocky Balboa.

The only songs that were once proposed to be in movies but for some reasons didn't made the final cut were:

"Velocitized" For Driven (2001) (Velocitized was first recorded in 1992 when Jimi made a short comeback in studio with Frank and Jim.. but leaved before Dave comeback for the '93 Reunion. )

"Man Against The World" for Rocky IV (1985)

"Ever Since The World" For Rocky III (1982)

and "Nevertheless" For D2: The Mighty Ducks (1994)

Maybe you think by starting a rumour you'll push the band to make choices and do what you dream of.. but it's not the best way.. trust me.
If I'm wrong and that Robin told you that story about the song "Teach me..." It's okay.
But we'll be fun for all of us here to stop posting rumours here...
Just info "offical" or quotes or interview from Peterik, Sullivan, Jamison, Bickler, McAuley, Ellis, Droubay, Ozellow, Groove, Dunnaway, Johnson and Smith.
as well as pictures and bootlegs are welcome...

I'm not against you survivorfan2005 but I'm a little sad to see all the time here rumours...

Take care you all

Hey many Thanks FalconeONE and Surivor2005.

Happy to hear "teach me how to dream" with Robin, future will tell if it's gonna be a Survivor song, anyway, it's a good ballad.

And the Haymakers club from 1978: unbelievable! Really happy to hear Survivor at its beginning. :D

It was as good as in the movie. SOMEthing went wrong between then (posting the FMS/Rocky vid) and when Frankie made the "New home for Reach that will blow you all away" post and finalizing of the movie sdtk.....I'd like to know b/c I think it was a major missed crossover appeal opportunity for both parties.

Falconeone, if you have different info, could you please tell us what in hell Sullivan was talking about 6 months ago with the Reach found an amazing new home comment?

I think that's both me an your points, S.
They would not have done that if they did not think it looked good to go for inclusion in the film.
