Hey Dean, pardon me but Clapton is the best player in the world, I didn't mean he'd fuck up, I'm pissed a little here in Euroland, he just wouldn't fit in with those guys

With all due respect, I don't think EC is better now that Schon. Schon can play more shit and different styles and genres than middle finger Eric.

I still don't get the "fuck it up" comment. Blades wrote on Arrival, Neal toured with Tommy...there is a genre connection here.

Uhhh...you're BOTH wrong.

Two words...Steve Lukather

And Beano...don't even go there. You know not what you speak of.

I was so totally wrong with Augeri Lipping too.

Neal plays shit like that for breakfast. If Neal just sat down to jam like Steve did, he'd rip his ass up.

LOL, sure Ed. And not trying to demean Gene, but I have a tape of BA and Gene talking on a radio interview and Gene basically said BA and Jim did all the writing. He said something to the effect, "Bryan and Jim worked their asses off. I just sat there and added a word or two."

Pretty funny.

Oh, I agree.

Adams/Vallance's "War Machine" ended up being stolen by Stone Temple Pilots and was ripped off and re-recorded as "Sex Type Thing"

Just thought the BAdmas/Kiss connection was interesting.

99 Luftballons
99 Red Balloons
99 Luftballons (live in Helsinki)
99 Luftballons (alternate version)
99 Luftballons (mega edit)
99 Luftballons (dance mix)

I so disagree with you on this. I've been playing guitar for 26 years and I know a little about the instrument and what it takes to play certain things and certain styles. That being said, it is my INFORMED opinion that Luke is the more versatile, technically-savvy player of the two. AS great as NS is (and he is great, btw), he is not on par with Luke. It's just that simple.

Now, on to the more curious topic of asking you how it is you are so familiar with King Kong's asshole...does that kind of thing excite you?

Lennon and McCartney were part of a bullshit phenomenon when teenaged girls fell for guys with salad bowl haircuts. Their acid-induced ramblings DID produce a few lyrically profound songs. HOWEVER, they released a ton of material and the vast majority of it is mindless, comatose, wrist-slitting garbage. I'm glad that one-legged skank is going to take that creep to the cleaners. As for Lennon, while I do NOT condone his murder, that guy was an asshole for the last 20 years of his life. Fuck him, too.

Not Cool. John Lennon is a Fucking Legend and was a quality human being. Jesus Christ, what is wrong with you?

JOHN LENNON BROUGHT US so much!
Sir Paul is still bringing it.
THE BEATLES can never be stopped!

Yoko Ono stopped them very easily. She brainwashed her gullible drug-addict husband into believing her bullshit. THAT is a fact.

St J, you're really starting to piss me off here. Even though your last statement may be technically true, Lennon/McCartney is the melodic songwriting standard against which all others should be measured. Hell, they invented the genre. It has progressed and evolved a lot since their time, but when it comes to melodies and lyrics, Lennon/McCartney still set the standard.

If you know ANYTHING about Luke, you know that he is about the MOST HUMBLE musician on the planet. He NEVER draws attention to his talents...always gives the other guy the "glory". But, he is a total MONSTER on the instrument.

I bet if you asked NS who is better...he'd say Luke. That is type of guy BOTH of those two are.

My opinion stands as previously stated...as good as both of them are, Luke is better.

And THAT is your opinion. Remember, we're arguing about subjective shit here, and I think Perry/Schon/Cain, either collectively, solo, or in any group of 2, blow their wandering acid ramblings away. Look at the Beatles lyrics in its totality. They have a lot of songs that make absolutely no fuckin' sense. Something that CAN'T be said for "my" song-writing team.

You obviously have NO CLUE as to how big Toto is in Europe...MUCH bigger than Journey. Have been for years. That is fact.

Two different bands. Two different styles. Two different audiences for the most part.

BTW, 7,000-10,000 people is not that huge of an audience. I saw Toto this summer play for ~40,000 (maybe more) in Ohio on July 4th. They absolutely KILLED.

Now, let's talk about which guitarist has played on the most albums...wanna go there? Luke has been THE MAN for years on the studio scene, since the 70's. He has played on, helped produce, and written for more records for more different artists from more diverse musical genres than Neal could ever dream of. That also is fact. But you know what? You are way too close-minded and limp-dicked to even have this discussion with. It is a waste of my time.

Your arguments are weak (just like you I bet), poorly laid out, and have no "meat" to them (again, just like you I bet).

Sorry about your luck.

I'll try to refute your idiocy. First of all, Neal founded a band that has moved, according to the most recent data, 92 million albums worldwide. Lukather is good, actually great, but his catalog is about as exciting as Walgreens' coupon section. As far as "genres" goes, Neal's style and creativity to a specific song, lyric, or sound is ABSOLUTELY unparalleled. Go to the Toto message board and slit your wrists. You'll be all alone....something I'm sure you're accustomed to.

You are both wacked out of your skulls.

St John, you are a fucking blinded retard when you put down Lennon and McCartney. They are the standard to which every team is measured. hell, I proved to you last night "Your team" wasn't as good as Adams/Vallance and now you ignore that beat down and go for the fucking Beatles? Dude, check yourself.

Tom, you are higher than high. Luke is awesome, but to say he has been on more albums than neal? So? Neal has toured every year for 9 years, put out what, 5 solo records, had Soul Sirkus on the side...there simply is not enough more time for him to do anything else.

Try to read this and actually comprehend what I am saying...

I don't respect you or your opinion. You have no knowledge with regards to the topic we are debating. You obviously are not a guitarist yourself or you would realize the lunacy of your ramblings. Do yourself a favor and avoid further embarassment by checking out the following link of Luke's Discography.

This will hopefully help you to dislodge your cranium from your rectal passage.

Neal is great...one of my all-time favs. He can rip like few others and has an INCREDIBLE tone (always has).

He is no Luke though.
