It most certainly IS a joke, as is 99.9% of this thread.
The originator of this thread is either a deeply deluded individual or the sock puppet of one
who has not met or interacted with the band in any way, shape or form during the past week. (Other than possibly buying tickets and attending the shows, but considering the rest of the content in he/she/its posts, that's a baby I'm prepared to throw out with the bathwater.) Rather than simply refute his little fantasy scenario, Zan and I decided to run with it and have some fun. We were hoping that more folks would pick up on the sarcasm &/or or decide to join in, but the whole thing seems to have run it's course at this point. So just to set the record straight:
No, they didn't switch instruments.
No, they didn't play "Superstars," or "Lords Of The Ring," or "You Need Love."
No, there is no new material which is inches away from debuting on stage -- certainly nothing with the word "universe" in the title -- and there's no way that anyone could have heard these phantom songs at soundcheck, since they didn't do any soundchecks during the CA run.
Also, Chuck Panozzo has been present at every gig for the past week, both on stage and back stage.
And with that, it's time to bring the curtain down. Thanks to everyone who participated. This wasn't the Best Thread Ever, but it was darned close.

You know, when I read your latest response, that was the first thing I thought: Now, here's a man who's too busy to read threads!![]()

StyxCollector wrote:Heh, you're intuitive. Crazy week. Both a gig and speaking engagement on Thursday, prep for both, regular work to do, and spent the past 3 days in the studio doing a demo. Oh yeah, and have to eat and sleep, too.
7 songs done and mixed this past weekend though.

I would expect no less of you.

No worries, Allan. It happens to all of us at one time or another.
Can't help but wonder how busy you were when you fell for this and this, though.

About the same, to be honest. I'm on the 24/7 treadmill.

The little relief I have that this wasn't some malicious anti-fan isn't much comfort to me knowing that real people were misrepresented and spoken for in this thread, even if it was just meant "in fun." Bottom line is, there *were* some people who believed your story, and some of the stuff you claimed to have "witnessed" could be construed as libel. And while I know you often think of yourself as some sort of assembly line hero, here to save us all from the horrible monotonies of Styxville, I'd watch the kind of "escapes" I took if I was you. Just sayin'.

Technically speaking, libel does not take place if it is apparent that the perceived libel was in fact a satire.

Lighten up Zan.
This 'ASSEMBLY LINE' actually had little to do with Styx. They were just the props.
This entire spoof was aimed at the Froy's and Zan's of the world. Those who see through their Froy and Zan colored glasses.
But now what hurts, is besides finding out that you also have Too Much Time On Your Hands, is that you are an ambulance chaser.
I bet you once owned a Pinto???????
Remember Zan It's all one GRAND ILLUSION!!!!!!
And YOU made it GRANDER!!!!!
