Was there a new song in their set called "Flights of Fancy"?? 8) Or maybe that should have been the title of this thread??

One has to wonder exactly how much time has been dedicated to the creation of this monumental work of fantasy. Aside from it being riddled with error and lunacy, it was brilliant (not really). I am, however, tormented by the question that begs: Who is the bigger fool? The fool, or the fool who follows him? ;-)

"I almost feel like I am about to break a confidence." Best. line. ever.

It most certainly IS a joke, as is 99.9% of this thread.

The originator of this thread is either a deeply deluded individual or the sock puppet of one, who has not met or interacted with the band in any way, shape or form during the past week. (Other than possibly buying tickets and attending the shows, but considering the rest of the content in he/she/its posts, that's a baby I'm prepared to throw out with the bathwater.) Rather than simply refute his little fantasy scenario, Zan and I decided to run with it and have some fun. We were hoping that more folks would pick up on the sarcasm &/or or decide to join in, but the whole thing seems to have run it's course at this point. So just to set the record straight:

No, they didn't switch instruments.

No, they didn't play "Superstars," or "Lords Of The Ring," or "You Need Love."

No, there is no new material which is inches away from debuting on stage -- certainly nothing with the word "universe" in the title -- and there's no way that anyone could have heard these phantom songs at soundcheck, since they didn't do any soundchecks during the CA run.

Also, Chuck Panozzo has been present at every gig for the past week, both on stage and back stage.

And with that, it's time to bring the curtain down. Thanks to everyone who participated. This wasn't the Best Thread Ever, but it was darned close.

I'll take "all of the above" for $500, Alex.

It wasn't the best thread ever because lots of (smarter) people ignored this thread entirely. I would've done that myself, but then I would have never gotten to read your post about the instruments, and that would have been a true crime.

Heh, you're intuitive. Crazy week. Both a gig and speaking engagement on Thursday, prep for both, regular work to do, and spent the past 3 days in the studio doing a demo. Oh yeah, and have to eat and sleep, too.

7 songs done and mixed this past weekend though.

No one liked the lyrics to Tommys new song?? Actually there was one or two of you who did!!! Maybe I could write the lyrics for 'When Dogs Fly'.

I do know somewhere below the waistline Froy had a little mess to clean up if he thought JY and Tommy were fighting.

I admit I am Castle Walls.

It is April Fools somewhere.

I guess I am the fool.

But damn I did have fun with this!!!!!!!

Hey now, Zan & Bugsy pulled the trigger. All I did was sweep up afterwards. But I do kinda feel bad that it had to end so soon. I'd suggest going down to the pet store tomorrow and getting a brand new bullshit thread to play with, but...y'know. ;)

Timmy and I are hauling all of our danish pastery and photography equipment home with us.

god I hope that our plane doesnt crash.

I will retire once I arrive.

I am sooooooo dissapointed in James and Tommy. Plus I never got a chance to meet Chuck or Froy. It is a sad sad day in my neighborhood.

I am gone now...............................................................................................................................................

P.S. If I did this on the Journey board those dumb asses would have believed EVERYTHING.

This is my ESCAPE!!!!!!!

The best part of this thread, for me, was feeding off Thom's replies. The little relief I have that this wasn't some malicious anti-fan isn't much comfort to me knowing that real people were misrepresented and spoken for in this thread, even if it was just meant "in fun." Bottom line is, there *were* some people who believed your story, and some of the stuff you claimed to have "witnessed" could be construed as libel. And while I know you often think of yourself as some sort of assembly line hero, here to save us all from the horrible monotonies of Styxville, I'd watch the kind of "escapes" I took if I was you. Just sayin'.

Technically speaking, libel does not take place if it is apparent that the perceived libel was in fact a satire.

Technically speaking, maybe. But if you read some of the replies in this thread, not everyone found the satire to be "apparent," and he only admitted to the charade after he was called out. At best, he's got some issues and has too much time on his hands. At worst, well, like I said, he needs to be careful what he lies about in the future.

The Fun Police has spoken ( was'nt that a Cheap Trick song????).

Lighten up Zan.

This 'ASSEMBLY LINE' actually had little to do with Styx. They were just the props.

This entire spoof was aimed at the Froy's and Zan's of the world. Those who see through their Froy and Zan colored glasses.

But now what hurts, is besides finding out that you also have Too Much Time On Your Hands, is that you are an ambulance chaser.

I bet you once owned a Pinto???????

Remember Zan It's all one GRAND ILLUSION!!!!!!

Well, one thing Froy & Zan have never done is pretend they were someone else to tell fictional stories about guys in the band. I guess that puts us ahead of you on the sanity continuum.

All I said was to be careful what you lie about. I stand by that. You were tip-toeing into some murky water, and "fun" or not, it could be construed in a way that would make things...unpleasant. So, relax yourself, check into Betty Ford for a few days and come back to Earth a little bit. Not everyone thinks you're the bulletin board savior you believe yourself to be.
