Curious.... Larry and Rick and the other fellow TX people. What are the numbers looking like in your areas for early voting? I bout fell outta my chair when they announced that over 800,000 had voted statewide in early votes. Set some sort of all time record.
I know in my little dem area (yeah folks, this big ass red state has a few VERY blue counties), we blew the record out of the water as far as early voting, with a hefty 8.9% being first time voters. Gotta love those lazy ass registered folk who've never used that power, yanno? Leave it to them to come out of the woodwork for the first time in 60 years JUST because we now have two minorities runnin against each other.
Here's one for the political analysts on the forum.... One prominent local political figure who was asked the question of who she would support actually stated, "I'd say Clinton, because the other one has one mark against him.... he's black."

Now here's the kicker, this political figure happens to be a mexican woman. And it seems that a whole lot of the hispanics (at least here this holds true) are supporting Clinton based upon the same line of thought (Obama is black, so we can't support him). It just seems damned odd to me... that mentality coming from folk who don't hesitate to jump on the "whoa is me because I'm part of a group that has been held back because of their color/race" bandwagon.

My question is, is this same thing playing out across the country or is it just in small backwoods areas like mine?
