Jeremey, I going to ask a difficult question.
Im curious, if you knew you wouldn't have taken your newborn and wife on the road, and you didn't want to be away from them for any period of time, why even go to the audition(was it just to see if you could get the position? To prove to yourself that you were good enough?)
I'm confused about something i read above...Your baby is approx 9 months old and the pregnancy is approx 9 months, so you had 18 months where if they gave you the call you knew your baby was on its way or already here. Knowing Journey ,you had to know they were going to want to tour and tour hard ,which would keep you away from your family . Why go to an audition knowing you wouldn't leave your family for any length of time.(Its like going to an interview knowing you won't take the job offered)
That opens up the question as to whether or not it was an audition at all....Which I'm not going to get into here.
However, making life changing decisions like that isn't the sort of thing that's done over the course of the 5 weeks or whatever between the first call I got to my conversation advising them to look elsewhere...
These aren't the sorts of things I was thinking about in my original post though. Maybe questions best left between the band and myself?
Damn Jeremey!
Your answers here just drum up 100 more freakin' questions!!!
