Would you be happier then if Andrew, whom we all know LOVES melodic rock slates what is frankly an amazing new melodic rock album from the finest exponents of the craft? What the hell would that achieve other than ruin the man's credentials for honest reporting.

The review was purely about the music and would stand no matter the artist.

Wow...why it bothers you so much that I'm just saying it's obvious, is beyond me. Others in the past have disagreed with Andrew- a little bit to BIG TIME. I'm not even doing that here.

So assuming you have heard it are you saying that you like the new album but would prefer that Andrew gave it a bad review? I must admit that I don't understand your reasoning. I would bloody well hope Andrew would enjoy it as its a fine release. A good album is a good album, regardless.

No. All I'm saying is I knew it would get the rating it did. Even with the ballads and "slowness" of it(hence the Bryan Adams comparison)..which in a post prior to submitting his review he said even those songs have been kicked up or whatever. So he had it covered.

That's...all...I'm...saying.

You are not a Journey fan anymore, that's why. Everything you post is painted with that brush. I don't think it bothers people as much as it is annoying.

Wrong. I'm a huge Journey fan ..the one with Steve Perry.

(don't read if it's annoying)

In that case you're over a decade late to the party.

Yeah, you know what's funny about that is being reminded in other threads how much time passed between albums etc even after Perry left.

Seriously. I will never understand the mentality of people who admit they are only fans of Perry era Journey. That Journey ended 10 years ago. If that is how I felt, I would not go to Journey message boards and shit all over the fans who are still enjoying Journey in their current form. I was ready to dump Journey too after the shiteous way JSS was treated and what I felt was a bone headed move finding a guy on You Tube. However, the new music and Arnel's amazing voice and attitude have turned me around. Otherwise, I would not be here complaining. I just don't get it. :?

I'm sorry...but just because Steve Perry is no longer with Journey..does not mean we shouldn't be posting here. The same could be said of those who despise Perry but love the new Journey. Who btw do exactly what you're describing- "shit all over the fans". And I'm not just referring to the Loons comments

And see..you didn't like the JSS boondoggle. I'm sure others disagreed with you on that.

So you are implying that any reviewer from any signifcant media outlet (ie NY Times) is just ONE person and not meaningful. Then you say Andrew's opinion is worth shit because he's in the tank for Journey.

Here's a thought for you... the new album is actually GOOD and Arnel is a great vocalist. Unbearable for you, isn't it?

Apparently.

Well, as you can see...I only pop in from time to time. But you have to admit it'd be pretty hard to keep many Perry fans away from a forum that is devoted to the group he was a huge part of. Whether it be to discuss Perry himself....just keep Perry alive SOMEway  ...or do what I guess you and others don't like.

I get that, I guess, but I would bet that 99.9% of everyone here who supports the current Journey still loves Steve Perry too. The two are not mutually exclusive.

There are others, maybe not a lot of people but there are others, it just depends on how you look at things. Some people are logical and others more emotional (alot of emotional thinkers here at this site)

Perry = girly primadonna. He used to be great but now he's a has-been. I was glad that Journey moved on with Augeri, and am still glad now.

I don't usually respond to trolls..but a guy who has decided to live life now on his owns terms is not a has been..so I guess for you that anyone who 'retires' and it able to do whatever they want after giving so much..is a has been..

There is something that I don't agree with you in your review, Andrew. When you write that Wildest Dream and Change For the Better are the heaviest songs since Frontiers.

Those songs surely rocks, but what about One More, Castle Burning, World Gone Wild, Out Of Arms Way, even State of Grace and Gone Crazy are as heavy or even more as them.

Sure he does, he always came across as an emo when it comes to this subject. His appearance in BTM was too funny.
