Move forward (and get knocked for "forgetting" the past) or toss Perrys name in every single interview worshiping him as a god? (thus the flood of folks saying "yep...they know they will never have the same magic as perry, it's doomed")
Example:
The upcoming documentary, focuses on Arnel.I guarantee there will be bitching because it's not telling the same story we've all heard before. "journey was doomed, but not to fear....Steve perrys nose is here!"
Yet if it was the full history, I guarantee people would claim they are cashing in on the legacy and only bought it because of Perry and don't have the balls to toss it behind.
So this is how a porn star feels getting double penetration every night.
On topic: WCTNGOF....I hope someone youtubes that shit.
Here it is

I really liked that, although I wished I could hear him just once attempt the end. I think it'd have to be the very last song though because he'd fall over and collapse.
Losing some range...but I like what I'm hearing. One thing perrys voice had that none of the others did was the emotion and feeling on record. Arnel does a fine job, don't get me wrong...but I never felt it like Perry. Perhaps on the next record, based on what I'm hearing...they'll push more of this.
He sounds a bit nervous--especially on WCTNGOF. Not the easiest song to sing, and he may have been trying too hard instead of just letting it flow naturally. You don't get the soul until you just start singing--trying to sing kills it immediately. I just hope they keep it in the setlist long enough to get to Greensboro next Friday, as he might just nail it with a bit of practice and relaxing. The audience seemed to like it, so that is a good sign--and it certainly ends the concert better than the extended LTS jam. I wasn't planning to go to the Greensboro show, but they have mixed the setlist up a bit so it's not just a Greatest Hits set. Now, just a request for One More....
ANYTHING is better than an extended version of an already terrible song. ><
Yep...he was this way his first time on some songs like Send her my love. I think some more practice and he'd nail it just like When you love a woman.
Arnel just needs to work on the rhythm and feeling the beat, and letting it flow naturally. His voice really is great, he doesn't have to sing so
hard.
IMO...SP stills owns these songs and still untouchable by any other, Deen is the next best thing doing it... Arnel did a fine job but as in many other instances trying to please the audience ( especially the loons ,

) he is getting a bit nervous. I guess that is the pitfall of being the frontman that everybody is expecting him to be. After all, his being there was built around the publicity that he sounds like Steve Perry.
Arnel should let it rip and let his natural voice and passion for singing flows. He's got a very wonderful pipes that any other singer would be wishing they have.
Lig was right, in due time when he becomes comfortable singing those songs, he will nail it ..perfectly.
I give him props for taking these songs head on..again ..he did well and he can be better. ( I still give SP the BEST )
Feliz cumpleaños Senor Arnel..muy bien.
Many of the great achievements of the worldweer accomplished by tired and discouraged men who kept on working.
