I can't believe the Moody Blues are not in there, what a joke. I think Neil Diamond should be in the Hall as well, if he didn't have his horrible 80's catolog he might be considered.

Actually Genesis has been ignored for a long time and I am quite shocked that Jan Wenner would actually want them in. Maybe Peter Gabriel has enough spunk to do it.

The Wayouts & Hi Fi both deserve it.

Gowan fronted the Wayouts from 71 to 73. Thats why Tommy & JY recruited him. It gave Styx the street cred they sooo desperately needed.

Hi Fi was NOT a square. If that rumor did not circulate he would have made the RRHOF already!!!

The Wayouts RULED. I think it was their trousers....

Sorry, but Kiss is a joke to me. Them before Styx? Journey? Cheap Trick?

Seriously stupid.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

All three of those bands you listed opened up for KISS.

All three of those bands didn't reach the success that KISS has.

Those three bands you listed were mainly successful in the U.S. KISS is an internationally successful band.
KISS played to far more people in far more countries than those three bands.

KISS also influenced far more musicians than those three bands.

Ya know , the 70's was such a long time ago......does anyone remember if Cheap Trick, Journey or Styx has to resort to Gimmicks like elaborate make-up, spitting out blood, etc to get their music noticed ?

My memory must be failing me, because I cant remember any of those bands having to do that........I keep trying to find my Steve Perry, Robin Zander, or Dennis DeYoung action figures and lunch boxes, but they are nowhere to be found :?:

Gene and Paul absolutely can't stand Jann Wanker. They've called him out in the press multiple times. See what Gene has to say about the Rock And Roll Hall Of Shame at the end of the "KISS Symphony" dvd. The Rock And Roll Hall Of Shame is nothing but a hippies' social club. It's run by Wanker and other people from Rolling Shite magazine. If they don't like your band they'll try to keep you out.

With KISS it's gotten to the point where everyone in the industry knows they should have been inducted in 1999. The longer they aren't inducted just makes Wanker and his friends look like the idiots they truly are.

Nobody wants a Steve Perry, Robin Zander, or Dennis DeYoung action figure or lunch box.

RE: Cheap Trick

They're full of gimmicks. Throwing KISS records out to the audience during "Surrender"; 5 neck guitar; two pretty boy rock stars and two guys that look like your weird uncle that you were warned not to be alone with.

RE: Journey

What's up with the pyro they were using on the "Frontiers" tour. I wonder where they got that idea from?

RE: Styx

I guess you never saw the "Paradise Theater" and "Kilroy Was Here" tours. A bit theatrical, wouldn't you say?

Credit where credit is due.

Paul and Gene the dancing machine made billions with a few buckets of paint ,a scoop of fake blood,a few pyros, silly outfits and maybe 10 OK songs.

10 o.k. songs?

They've sold 100 million lps worldwide.

They're the American rock band with the most RIAA gold lp awards.

KISS was signed to Casablanca Records due to their music. Neil Bogart, who later found out that KISS wore makeup, tried to convince them to drop the makeup.

It's all about the music. Anything else is just icing on the cake.

"a scoop of fake blood"

"Who said it was fake" (G. Simmons)

Needless to say, Kiss belongs before some of the other "artists" that reside in the Yawn Weener hall of fame. Patty Smith? Get Real. Naturally so does Styx, Journey and about every other band mentioned.

And look where Kiss is now...Guess it worked out pretty well for them.

The reason there are no Steve Perry, Robin Zander, or Dennis DeYoung action figures is because no one would ever want/buy Steve Perry, Robin Zander, or Dennis DeYoung action figures.

That being said, Zander is awesome, DeYoung needs to rejoin Styx.

If quantity equals quality, yes you are correct.
Main thing is that you are happy with the product.
I have seen Kiss 3 times and and first time was OK,but must admit that I felt ahem a little underwhelmed the last 2.
Tell you what.I'll see if I can find my Hot in the shade album and give it another go.
