Bullshit. He didn't even try any from 100yrs. He knows fans don't give a crap about his solo songs. They want to hear Styx. Period. I'll go back to the Perry comparison...He is nothing without Journey and Dennis is nothing without Styx. You can take all of his solo stuff and flush it down the toilet and it wouldn't matter....because the only thing that REALLY matters is his time with Styx. That is what this proves to me.
Let's face it, he has enough of his own hits: "Lady", "Come Sail Away", "Babe", "The Best Of Times", "Mr. Roboto", "Don't Let It End"
And, those are not 'his' hits, they are STYX hits. Some people may not wish to admit it, but those songs are the bands, not DDY solo songs.
"Desert Moon"
And, that is the only solo song that the general public even has a hope of knowing.
"Show Me The Way"
Even though that may be a 'hit', it didn't become a classic like the older songs...and really is not in the same league as the other Styx songs you mentioned.
that's not even including lesser hits and album tracks. I would imagine it's more simply because he can, and he finally realized, if they're doing it, there's no reason why he shouldn't, but we shall see.
He can do it...but it's pretty pathetic, IMO. It's all but admitting that he can't make it without Tommy and the rest of the band.
