Funny seeing that line up on stage with those two album covers in the back ground.

While I agree with this, I'm thinking...
why are these photos in Froy's Dennis thread????
Because he realllys loves him & does not want anyone to know it.![]()

Why is it funny they take credit for everything STYX and do nothing for it.

At the end of the show it scrolls from album cover to album.
There is some irony in the picture, but that is it. Other than 15 seconds of Roboto, they don't play anything off either album. I am sure once the medley is retired, that 15 seconds of Roboto will be gone too.

I hate to say it but when you hear Mr Roboto you think of 1 thing STYX and only Dennis plays the song because it's his creation.
Another reason why Dennis DeYoung as he stands alone is more of STYX than anyone on this earth combined,

Froy,
We both agree on this. Dennis is known as the voice of the hits for Styx. This will make Dennis' show much more appealing to the mass audience, especially with the addition of August.
If Dennis ever decided to do a formal tour in the US, his show would have more appeal to Styx fans as well as put tremendous pressure on Styx. The decision of Styx to stay with the rockers allows Dennis to do what he does.
The show is a much better show now with August and Jimmy. Much more energy and the show appeals to a wider audience.
I am glad you finally got to see the current lineup. The video on youtube doesn't do them justice.
If Jimmy was able to pull off half penny or Miss America vocally, and I don't know one way or another, then that would make Dennis the band to see.
I know some on here think I talk out of both sides of my mouth with Styx vs Dennis. But you know i call it right down the middle. And as I said in my last review of Styx's show, right now Dennis' show is the one to see. The sets change regularly as well as concert styles and the energy on stage has reinvigorated Dennis.

Habve a great weekend.
mrsromek wrote:Good for DDY for going out and finding a guy to not only sound like TS, but also to be able to play guitar pretty damn good as well. I can only speak as a fan of the music, and what I saw on Saturday was better than any of the times I had seen the band known as Styx.
This is not a great example at all, but it was like when I saw Warrant without Jani Lane. He's Warrant. Period. Same idea with Styx.

Actually, you can see who ever you want. I see both and enjoy them both. Of course, your boys only come to New England once a year, so I won't be able to see them until next year. I could care less about how each of them draw at a show. I only use them to compare the types of venues they are playing.
If you want numbers, Here are the numbers from Chicago...
7,000 from Froy
12,000 from Craig Carter - Dennis' Bassist
16,000 from August Zadra - Dennis' guitarist
and they were all at the same show.

If Styx is "Mr. Roboto" then I'm not interested. If Dennis is "Mr. Roboto" then I'm not interested.
Roboto was a mistake from day one. The fact that he continues to play a song that really divided
his own fan base can't be a good thing...
I like both camps, but man, Mr. Roboto is such a terrible tune...
Imagine where we'd be if that one and First Time were never recorded. It'd be a happier Styx fanbase, that's for sure...
Roboto is great to pull out for the "casual fan" but who gives a crap about them?
It's too bad that bands have to cater to the 'casual fan'.
