They really are a unique blend of all types of labels, so they are difficult to fit into one slot. Personally, I prefer the rock songs versus the ballads, and to my way of thinking, it is the ballads that have so polarized everybody. Love 'em or hate 'em. But, I think that's true of most bands, especially if they start out in "rock" mode.
Masque, glad to see you included Shooz in your fantasy list. I'd love to see that one live. I'd love to see Tommy play some slide.
yeh cassie i freaking love shooz and would love to hear it live in its entirety.
as for your other comments you are correct they are hard to categorize......the problem is that their "hits" certainly the latter "hits" placed them in the category as ballad band.
but folks that went to see them live realized that they were deeper than ballads and in fact a true rock band.....so the general casual fan probably sees the band in a different light than the true fan. both points of view are correct depending on what kind of fan you are.
but to me like it's always been said..."what the general public doesnt know is what makes them the general public". personally, i'm so thankful that i'm a fan with their entire catalog engrained in my brain and heart and consdier myself "in the know".....lol....because if all I knew or thought they were was babe, dont let it end and roboto, then i wouldnt be a fan. i can dig those songs ok because i was a fan already....not because those songs made me a fan.
