Cowboys/Bengals was a fucking heart attack for me. At least I'll be relaxed, and buzzed for this game.

Man the Pats are firing on all cylinders.. their D got after it tonight... if they play this well next week against the 9ers its gonna be a short game..

I'm expecting next weeks score to be 30 - 10, Pats win....

It's only a matter of time before Brady joins the invulnerable ranks of Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw with QB's with 4 rings. Hell, if it wasn't for ONE play in '07 & '11, Brady arguably has 5 rings right now. That team is the best coached team I've ever seen and punk's everybody who dares to enter their football stadium. I'd be shocked not to see them representing the AFC this year.

I know that you can't help yourself, but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't put Tom Brady and Terry Bradshaw in the same sentence. You weren't born when Bradshaw played. I saw the guy play. It's not close between him and Brady. He wasn't half the QB Tom Brady is. I don't care if Bradshaw had 15 rings. The guy simpy wasn't that good. Anyone alive at that time knows that I could have been the QB of those Steelers teams (and I was 10) and they still would have won those Super Bowls!

Lets not get into this dude. I don't feel like arguing today. All I said was he'll soon have 4 rings, like Montana and Bradshaw. That is correct, right? Looks to me like you're helping yourself to an argument that I didn't even start nor even care to get into.

So much for a GOOD MNF game. Pats raped a JV high school team last night.

They even wore their letterman jackets to prove it! They bust those out for New England? Are you shitting me? That's the last team you bust those out against:

Does anyone know why it's the "New England" Patriots? Other teams represent individual cities, but the Pats represent an entire region of the country. Just seems odd to me. Why not "The Foxboro Patriots"?

Not really any more complicated than someone liked the name more than the Boston Patriots (which was the original team name). They would certainly never be the Foxboro Patriots any more than any more the Lakers would be the Ingelwood (they don't play in Los Angeles) Lakers. I'm still trying to figure out why the Jets and Giants are the "New York" Giants and Jets, given that neither team plays in the state of NY!

Probably for the same reason the airport in Kentucky, across the river from Cincinnati, is actually called the Cincinnati Airport.

They both started out in New York. Actually, the Jets were named after the fact that they played right by LaGuardia Airport in New York (though they were originally named The Titans.) When they moved to NJ, it wasn't because they were representing NJ, it was (as far as I know) because land was cheaper and more available there. The Jets actually wanted to move back to NYC a few years ago, but thankfully, they couldn't reach a deal (that would have been a traffic nightmare after every game. Manhattan is crowded enough as it is.)
Also, "New York" is more marketable than "New Jersey", so I'm sure no one was in a hurry to drop "New York" from either team's name.

I'd cheer for a team called Ingelwood.

@DavidWT -- Yea, it is a decent album. Not the best album in general, but some of the songs are IMO the best they've done. My car broke down the day before the Palladium show so I couldn't so see them live...and then they axed Anette 3 concerts later. It bummed me out knowing I won't be able to see that era of Nightwish in show anymore.

It's the only NW album I have. Actually, I picked it up on a whim when I saw it at the local library, not really knowing anything about it or about NW in general.

To end the OT sidetrack, I suggest you pick up 'Dark Passion Play' right away. It was the first with Anette on vocals and it's spectacular start-to-finish...Be more cautious about earlier releases because the Tarja-era is pure operatic vocals and won't be to everyone's taste.

So back on topic, I'm glad I changed my Monday pick. If this is how the Texans perpare for 'big games' come playoff time, they could be in trouble.

...

Here's a discussion question. I'm thinking at the rate things are going, Alex Smith, Matt Flynn, and Mike Vick, could be available for sign/trade next year. Do they get new jobs elsewhere, and which teams are the best fit? Also, does Vince Young get a starting job next year?

Alex Smith is gone.. Harbaugh has played his hand. The only way he's gonna QB for Harbaugh again is if Kaepernick gets crushed.

Mike Vick sucks and has always sucked. No QB with less talent has received more publicity in the history of the NFL! Dude simply can't play.

While I don't disagree with your point, Tebow was one year worth of media-hyped BS. Vick has been a decade's worth, and I think they suck equally!

I just really hope Michael Vick doesn't end up with the Jets. Aside from the fact that he sucks, there's no way I could root for that guy.
I'm hoping the Jets trade Sanchez and Tebow for Brady and RGIII. I think that would probably be better than getting Vick.

Vick isn't one of the best QBs in the league, definitely, but he's still WAY better as an actual QB than Tebow. Vick at least had one really good season doing some actual passing. He's also managed to complete the ball above 50% of the time, at least to something/someone other than the ground...

Ground Emerges as Tim Tebow's Favorite Target

Love the guy as a person but that's funny.

Vick's mechanics are at least GOOD (while it still looks weird to me only 'cause he's a lefty)..and Teblow looks like he's winding up as a pitcher, basically. lol
