Kilroy revelations in the band's own own words in 1983.
Hey kids,
Listen to JY, Tommy, John, Chuck and me talking about everything Kilroy.
These interviews, conducted in 1983, are fascinating on so many levels. Each member speaks intelligently and passionately about the Kilroy project from their own personal perspective. I have no recollection where this was done and admittedly I listened apprehensively hoping not to be embarrassed. I was not. So much to be proud of. Wow!
For me the Kilroy concert was essentially a Styx concert at its core with a cool film, and some production numbers that were meant to be entertaining. And yes there were many intentional laughs baked in. “Hey Roboto! Yer mudder was a Toyota!” delivered perfectly by John among others.
The themes of censorship in KWH would prophetically play out a few years later with the PMRC and the warning labels on albums.
The dangers of encroaching technology vs. mankind appear today in our daily lives in ways that must concern us all. We are all now just people whose circumstances went beyond our control. “Machines to save our lives -- machines dehumanize”.
To all who have ever taken a positive or negative position on the Kilroy album or tour this is a must listen. You won’t be disappointed. Listening to the guys made me once again proud to have been in that band, STYX
Cheers Robots are Us.
