And if Jon lets Schon use the Journey name to tour then I can only imagine what type of shit show that will turn into. The setlist that Neal will want to play will completely kill that type of crowd

Maybe they won't sell 20,000 tickets per concert? But they should be able to sell 5,000 tickets per concert with no problem. Unless Neal does something stupid like hire a singer who does not fit Journey's style.

How much does he need a month to sustain that lifestyle you're referring to?
Unless you're his accountant, that's all speculation.

If Jonathan and Arnel both leave, which it sounds like they will, "Journey Beyond" will be lucky to sell 1000 tickets, IMO. They will be performing free concerts at BBQ festivals and county fairs. IMO, they will be a Vegas internship at best.
Journey Beyond or JTT or any of these Journey adjacent bands feed off of Journey's success. Without Journey out their touring these bands will quickly mean nothing.
Neal will definitely have issues with the money brought in. Will he go back to living on a bus for a tour, instead of flying? Will he be happy playing free concerts while people walk around eating corn dogs? This is going to get old very quickly for him. Despite what he currently believes, he alone is NOT Journey. It's going to be a rude awakening for him.

And if he also has a great singer who fits the band. They will have zero problem selling 5,000 tickets per show. Neal is a bigger part of the concert appeal than Cain is in general. And I'd say that over the last 5 years or so, he's a bigger concert draw than Pineda is. Unless of course we are talking about the Philippines? It has been said many, many times for many years that If there's no Neal Schon, there's no Journey. Even "Journey" by name without Neal Schon is not true Journey. They were and are, still Journey, without Steve Perry.

I’m sorry but you’re deluded if you think that
Journey/Survivor wrote:In fact. I think that it's laughable how much the hate is for Schon that it's clouding the view point of several people on here. Other than the Pineda story back at the time of Revelation, Schon has been the biggest draw for Journey (Aside from the songs themselves) since Perry left the band. Unless Schon is the moron that many of you think that he is, Schon's Journey-whatever will have zero problems selling 5,000 tickets per show.

There are Journey cover bands that fill 2000-3000 seat venues near me.
I think Neal will be ok.
Maybe Sammy or TOTO can let his new Journey spinoff open on some dates to get some publicity.

Monker wrote:With the hiring and touring with Arnel, Neal proved Perry fans correct...that Journey can't escape Steve Perry's influence. Journey never grew beyond the nostalgia for Perry's era of the band. In fact, they leaned into it for the $'s. Because of this, Neal will always be in Perry's shadow...and Neal will never be the main draw for Journey.
