quote="sadie65"]I myself don't read much into it. Sounds like he's pretty much saying that he and the rest of the lineup really don't want a reunion cuz there's still some pretty strong hard feelings between the men. The never say never, well, it's a way to dodge giving a final answer. I seriously doubt they will reunite, and as I've said before, I don't think it would be in anyone's best interest for them to do so. But that's just me. I think they are better off apart.

Heck Shaw was doing coke in Dennis's house and they forgot about that.
Another thought is the payday .
Dennis is more mellow and Tommy wants to rock, but not have it sound like classic Styx.

How do you think the tension was felt when they had already "kicked" Dennis out of the band and had Larry in it? Since Styx was already committed to perform as Styx with Dennis, the show went on as planned. I don't know how Dennis performed under those circumstances, but he did.
Is this really true??
sadie65 wrote:It is known that this was Dennis' last performance with the band, and tour plans had already been set. To that end, I would say only that Larry had been chosen to go on tour at that point.
Peace
I hope Dennis is happy doing what he is doing. I was always a fan of Dennis' voice and I hear great things about his shows", said Shaw, adding that"anyone who say 'never' is gonna be wrong."
WHAT DOES THIS SOUND LIKE??????????
Just my $0.02.

And the killer is Gowan let it happen
He should have said you know what guys work this out
I do not belong interfering with such a great band
No instead the guy leaches and never stops
I say dump his ass and now/

His solo albums bombed and as a solo act he would have a hard time filling anything other than a very very small venue. It is obvious that Tommy and Dennis have viable careers outside of Styx. JY does not. It is also obvious given the choice of Dennis or Tommy, JY would much rather have Tommy. But don't be fooled, JY needs Styx more than anyone.
Does anyone believe that if Tommy and Dennis patched things up and wanted to tour together that JY would leave Styx? Hell no! He'd do a 180 on all statements over the last 6 years and go grab his Dr. Righteous costume faster than you could say "Domo Arigato".
JY has bitched about the EOTC recording sessions and how Dennis demanded 'Total Control'. Yet he gave it to Dennis willingly. Hmmmm wasn't that the last time JY even sniffed the top ten? Break up the band again for a couple more years and Tommy comes back. Reunion tour follows and RTP goes gold. Didn't hear JY bitching then. The smack talk only started after it became obvious that Dennis was gone. The longer you go without Dennis and the more likely it is that he will never come back, the more personal the JY attacks become.
Don't you think that if you finally had the group "the way you wanted it" you'd be happy? I'd have a perma smile, but JY doesn't. Perhaps it's because it's not REALLY the way he wants it. If Styx went platinum with BBT, I bet he'd start to mellow. Just my $0.02.
