Lets judge each "Dennis" song that they still/or have done, since 1999..applying several categories such as: who wrote the song, who originally sang it, crowd reaction if the song was not done today, etc
Lady - written by Dennis (by himself, but wait another year and somebody else will claim they wrote this). Great song, but easily dropped from the set. Why? For starters it is a love song, even though no violins or choirs on it, the lyrics (in some people's opinions) are along those sappy kind like on Best of Times, Babe or First Time. I can remember seeing the original line up not do it and nobody came away unhappy. Substitute full version of Man in the Wilderness.
Grand Illusion - I always thought that this was co written by Shaw/Young/Deyoung. Wrong, written by Dennis (again nobody else has claimed ghost writer)..sang by Dennis. Drop this song too...sub in Superstars which is a great song, same album, sung by TS and co written by the band.
Come Sail Away - Written by Dennis (under protest from two current band members) sung by dennis. This is the one song if not played today by a band that calls itself STYX, would probably piss several paying concert goers off...leave it in.
Loreli - co written by Young and DeYoung. Leave in if you must, however hand the vocal over to Gowan ...pleeeeeasssseeeeeeee. Or drop it and add a JY tune (Midnight Ride, or Eddie)
Other potential fill in songs for these: Borrowed Time, Sing for the Day, Shooz....
