Thank god he did. And that was not Styx it was TW4If Dennis came back, Chuck would still not be able to play due to health reasons, and there would only be 12 shows a year.
Chuck is doing better day after day
You just don't know if he could do a 50 date summer tour.If Babe was the beginning of the end, as Tommy and JY have both stated,
How can the bands only number 1 song be the begining of the end
JY and Shaw are jealous that they cannot write a number 1 hit.then the Volkswagon commercial may have been a part of it but in no way could be said to be the only reason.
Im sure your right it was not the only reason
Im sure Dennis had issues with Shaw when he was coked up
But he insisted Shaw be in during the 91 period .
Now everything is pointed towards Dennis which is ridiculous.Lies and Not Dead Yet were done well before Walrus.
And they both sucked .Tommy was not there for either. And your comparison doesn't hold because your comparing a song vs an album.

One of my friends is good friends with Chuck and says that he can not do that many dates. So I do know.
JY and Tommy hated that song before it was number one and before it was on the album. The fact that it went to number one was of little importance at the time, it was the type of music that was being included on the album.
Personally, I like Babe, but it wasn't the style of music that at least two of the members wanted to play.

Why is that so hard to understand? Dennis started taking Styx in a direction that they did not want to go. When it became a huge hit, it became a direction they HAD to go to keep themselves up to the standards of their past success. So, you end up with a "Don't Let It End" and a "Show Me the Way" on every album. .

Well, it could be worse, They could have a Girls With Guns(song),a Lonely School, a Kiss Me Hello, a Outside In The Rain, a Little Girl World, or a Count On You on every Album, the very ROCK music that Tommy left the Band for that he was so full of and there was no outlet for it in Styx...
And JY's City Slicker and Raised By Wolves...Kind of funny how both Tommy and JY can base their solo music on the very same direction that they opposed of in Styx...

I think we all agree that when these guys were together they are at their best. And ALL of their solo careers were rather lackluster.

There are sure a lot of one-hit wonder bands that would probably have some strong feelings on this and how it ties into long term success. They could have a Girls With Guns(song),a Lonely School, a Kiss Me Hello, a Outside In The Rain, a Little Girl World, or a Count On You on every Album, the very ROCK music that Tommy left the Band for that he was so full of and there was no outlet for it in Styx...
Good point, DeeJay. I've always scratched my head when considering Tommy's solo albums, especially taking into consideration the "no outlet" comment he made on BTM. I'd love to ask him for an explanation someday.

I prefer Cyclorama to Kilroy, Cornerstone or Brave New World. So, no I don't agree.

Getting back to Walrus, could this remake enter the top 40??

Styx dumped Dennis because Styx wanted to tour and Dennis wouldn't and/or couldn't. They replaced him and toured anyway...so he sued them. After suing the band, why would ANYBODY ever expect Styx to bring him back?
It's more likely Perry will join Journey then Styx will bring back Dennis. At least Perry didn't sue Journey.
I have not flipped thru all the post on this topic, but I do not know why everone is so pissed for.
